A Woman Who Is a Sorcerer
An unidentified woman who was believed to be a witch doctor has been arrested in Embu County, Kenya, after she was found to be in possession of charms.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was arrested on Tuesday, May 17, 2023, after a raid on her home in the village of Kiganjo by police officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The raid was conducted after the DCI received reports that the woman was allegedly using her powers to harm people in the village. During the raid, the officers found a number of items that are commonly used by witch doctors, including a black pot, animal bones, and herbs.
The woman is currently in police custody and is expected to be charged with witchcraft. This is a crime in Kenya and carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
