Microsoft Hotfix for TPM 20 Device
If you are experiencing issues with the TPM 20 device in Windows 7, you can resolve the problem by applying a Microsoft hotfix. The hotfix is only available for Windows 7 64-bit operating systems, so you must first switch to 64-bit Windows 7 before you can install the hotfix.
Steps to Install the Hotfix
- Switch to Windows 7 64-bit operating system.
- Download the Microsoft hotfix for the ACPIMSFT0101 device.
- Run the hotfix, which should install the device.
Please note that the Microsoft hotfix only addresses the ACPIMSFT0101 device. If you have any other unknown devices, you will need to find a separate driver for that device.
Additional Information
After you have installed the hotfix, you may need to restart your computer. You can check if the hotfix was successful by opening Device Manager and checking if the exclamation point under the TPM device has disappeared.
